  • <p><a rel="attachment wp-att-43881 slb_group[43865] slb slb_internal" href="http://www.plastikitty.com/?attachment_id=43881"></a></p> <p>Griffon is usually the only PVC company to show up to Treasure Festa, and they take advantage of it with a wide range of merchandise on display. This time around they’ve changed things up a bit though: their bread and butter franchise, Touhou Project, was mysteriously missing! Well, not missing: the derpy 1/10 figures were on display and <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/griffon-announces-a-figure-of-touhou-projects-rumia" target="_blank">Rumia</a> is painted… though the less I say about her the better.</p> <p>It seems like they are going back to their roots–scantily clad ladies! Many of <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/winter-wonder-festival-2013-griffon-enterprise" target="_blank">the Wonder Festival announcements</a> are sculpted, including Ikaruga (who is also painted) and Katsura Kotohana. Surprisingly, the <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/griffon-takes-on-sasami-tsukuyomi" target="_blank">just-announced Sasami Tsukuyomi</a> is there as well, and not quite as cute as I had hoped. As for new announcements, we have quite a few–they’re doing Katsumi Liqueur and Kiddy Phenil from <em>Silent Mobius</em> and are going back to Ikkitousen with another Ryofu Housen.     There are a massive amount of figure-related events in Japan. Usually we cover the big ones that involve PVC: Wonder Festival, Comiket, MegaHobby, Tamashii Nations, et cetera. But of course the garage kit community probably puts out ten times as much as the PVC world, they are just a lot harder to get! The most recent gk event will be Treasure Festa in Ariake 9, which takes place on May 5th–yes, only a few days away!

At Winter Wonder Festival CM’s Corporation <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/winter-wonder-festival-2013-cms-corporation" target="_blank">announced a whole slew of figures of the girls</a>: 5, to be exact. And 4 of them are at this event! The disappointing Hibari, who has already gone up for order, seems to be getting a second (slightly cuter) version. Company version</a>.</p> <p>We have two brand new sculpts: Yagyu, who I have to say is looking pretty awesome, and Ikaruga, who is looking less awesome. Why can no company do her right? The boob-lifting thing is just… odd. Come on, <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/amiami-zero-announces-an-ikaruga-from-senran-kagura" target="_blank">AmiAmi Zero</a>, you’re my only hope! I really hope their Asuka turns out okay, but I feel like Phat!     Miyazawa Model Exhibition Spring 2013: CM’s Corporation

    Senran Kagura is one of the hottest new properties, and companies are clamoring to make figures of the busty main cast. At Winter Wonder Festival CM’s Corporation announced a whole slew of figures of the girls: 5, to be exact. And 4 of them are at this event!     A+ Takes On Haruka Fron Senran Kagura Burst

    I really don’t know why I am so in love with the girls from Senran Kagura. It’s a fanservice fighting game, and I tend to absolutely loathe those.     AmiAmi Zero Announces An Ikaruga from Senran Kagura

    Senran Kagura was definitely the “it” property at Wonder Festival with tons of companies announcing figures from the game/anime. Not surprising, since it’s like Ikkitousen with actually interesting and diverse character designs! Ikaruga seems to be one of the more popular girls, with a figure up for order from Phat! Company, one on display from Vertex, and an announced figure from CM’s Corporation.

    However, none of these has really done it for me. I hate the pose and proportions on the Phat! one, the Vertex ones outfit is a bit too… scant for me, and the pose on CM’s looks blah. Thankfully I love what AmiAmi Zero has done with the cast: their swimsuit Yagyu is to die for, and their Katsuragi is just adorable! Hopefully Ikaruga comes out looking as good as those two.
