Winter WonFest 2018: Persona 5 figmas & Nendoroids
Posted by Leah Bayer on February 17, 2018 | No CommentsYou may be thinking, “Leah, 4 announcements isn’t really worth its own post!” To which I say, “shhh, let me have this moment.” Because do you know what we are getting? Did the header give it away? We’re getting a YUSUKE FIGMA. My beautiful husband can now be in my life to give me art advice. Oh, and figma Anne too! Both in their Phantom Thieves garb, of course. We also have two Nendoroid announcements: Futaba (in casual clothing) and the MC (in his Joker garb). I wonder why they’re in non-matching outfits? Maybe we will get two full lines of the whole cast?? Hey, a girl can dream. [via whl4u] -
Winter WonFest 2018: MegaHouse’s Persona 5 Arsene
Posted by Leah Bayer on February 17, 2018 | 2 CommentsWith every entry into the Persona series we get progressively more figures. I predict that by the time 6 comes out (10 years from now, let’s be realistic) the figure market will be nothing but Persona. And I’m kind of okay with that. Today we have an unexpected announcement: MegaHouse is taking on the persona Arsene! Given their love for monsters (Digimon, Pokemon, etc) perhaps this isn’t that much of a shock, but the level of detail surely is. Those wings! And he will be part of the DX series, which means… very expensive and (knowing them and their hatred of letting me buy things I want) an exclusive. Doesn’t matter, gonna get Arsene. NYCC 2017: Max Factory’s Persona 5 Joker figma Gallery
Posted by Leah Bayer on October 20, 2017 | No CommentsAfter the years upon years we waited for Persona 5, it’s only fair that we get an absolute metric ton of merchandise from it. I mean, I think at this point we have more P5 figures than P4... which is really saying something. I mean, the game just came out this year! In the US, at least. Waiting for translations is so annoying. Of course Max Factory was one of the first companies to jump on the P5 hype train. After all, based god MF is the one who gave us a P3 figma. So far we only have Joker in the lineup, but he comes with a little Morgana so it’s kind of like two for the price of one! I’m considering putting Morgana on my alarm clock to give me even less of a reason to wake up. I mean, just imagine it: you roll over in the morning to hit your alarm and are faced with the “it’s time for bed” cat. What’s one more hit of the snooze, right? -
Summer WonFest 2017: Shin Megami Tensei figmas
Posted by Leah Bayer on July 29, 2017 | No CommentsLast WonFest, FREEing announced that they would be doing a figma of Pixie, one of the more iconic monsters from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Oh, and Mara too, but that ended up being a $300+ figure. Bleh. But now, we have two figmas! Pixie and Angel. I have to say, neither of them looks… particularly amazing, but this is FREEing after all, and the monsters are so starved for figures that I am not going to complain. [via figsoku] -
Summer WonFest 2017: Amakuni
Posted by Leah Bayer on July 29, 2017 | 6 CommentsEvery time I see an Amakuni figure I love, I die a little inside because they are all exclusives. Their booth this year is truly suffering because I want almost all of it. Guys, my heart. I’m dying. Seven Heavenly Virtues Michael is finally painted, and soooo pretty, as are quite a few of their KanColle girls. We also have a sculpt for Iowa which has some pretty impressively floating boobs. Cause she’s ‘Murican and we love plastic surgery? They also have two of their Persona 5 girls, Futaba and Makoto, sculpted. One is my waifu and one is my least favorite girl, can you guess which is which? We also got a nice, detailed look at their Racing Miku 2017 who… I actually like more than the GSC one. There were also some crazy surprises, like Jaden from Yu-Gi-Oh GX (the hell) and Mai from King of Fighters! Amakuni has really been killing it lately. [via Hobby Japan] -
Summer WonFest 2017: Garage Kit Roundup
Posted by Leah Bayer on July 27, 2017 | 4 CommentsIt’s that time again! Wonder Festival is only 2 days away, so we’re bringing you our annual roundup of some of the best garage kits that will be at the event. Because, as you probably know, Wonder Festival has way more gks than PVC figures but we can’t get our greedy little paws on them. Plus, if we did, we can’t paint. But, as always, if you can paint/will be at the event, all images are labeled with both the circle & character name. The tides seem to be changing this WonFest. There’s very little of our usual standards, like Miku Hatsune or KanColle, and the new darling Re;Zero seems to have already fallen off. Instead we have a TON of Fate girls (both Grand Order and Extella), quite a bit of Persona 5 merchandise, and some truly stunning original characters. And more Adventure Time! Check them all out after the jump. [via i_con, horikazz, crea mode, amie grand, Akiba Weekend, moeyo, vispo, wonder showcase, mfc] -
MegaHobby Expo Spring 2017: Amakuni
Posted by Leah Bayer on May 26, 2017 | No CommentsAmakuni: purveyor of expensive shit you probably can’t afford but really want. They’re continuing that trend today with another Persona 5 announcement: Futaba Sakura! Sigh, my squid waifu in her Phantom Thief outfit is a thing of dreams. And a lot of $$ Oh, they had other things as well! Like sculpts for Lilith Aensland, and Shinki Ixseal from Choukou Shinki Ixseal. Plus an announcement for Medusa Lancer from Fate/Grand Order, along with a few of their older sculpts. [via AmiAmi’s Twitter] -
Get The Best Persona Waifu With Phat’s Futaba Sakura
Posted by Leah Bayer on May 12, 2017 | No CommentsPersona 5 is a hard game. I mean, the battles are a ton easier than previous entries in the series, but picking who you are going to romance? It’s brutal, guys. Just brutal. They’re all such good waifus. But I picked obviously best waifu Squid Girl because she’s basically me irl. Next playthrough I’m going to date everyone and see what happens on Valentine’s Day. We saw the sculpt for Futaba at Wonder Festival, but now she is painted and so cute! Look at how smol and precious. They also had an updated sculpt for Nendoroid Morgana at the booth, so you can constantly have a tiny cat telling you to go to bed. But seriously, it looks like he’s getting his all out attack pose. Will it come with a lil chair?! [via AmiAmi’s Twitter & gsc_kyojin]
