Another week, another roundup! What happened to last week’s, you ask? My dog ate it.
You probably don’t know this but I tend to write the intro for these after everything else is done, and am terrified that one day I will forget and one of my stupid placeholder sentences like “some words” or “a few butts” will pop up on the front page instead. But today is not that day! Today is the day I ramble because we have really slim pickings. Sure, there are some nice figures, but it seems like none of the big companies came out to play. No scaled figures from Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Max Factory, even Phat! or Daiki. But of course there are some nice figures–check them out after the jump!

[Editor's Note: Yamato has changed their name to Arcadia, they are still the same company]
Now here is a figure I have been waiting a long time for! As a huge fan of Tony Taka’s work I have regretted for some time skipping Kotobukiya’s version of Maxima from Shining Hearts (along with the Dollfie version of her, sigh), but Yamato’s take on the character had me certain I would eventually own a figure of this double-named beauty. Yamato/Arcadia is as slow as manufacturers come, so it’s taken a while for this figure to get up for order: is she worth the wait?
In my book, hell yes! Maxima looks totally stunning in this figure, the face is spot-on and one of the closest I have seen to Tony Taka’s art. The pose, the dress, it’s all fabulous. Of course this is a pricey company so she won’t come cheap: ¥10,800 with a July release. However, I have never regretted a single one of my Yamato purchases so a little name change isn’t going to stop me from owning miss Enfield! Now to see if there will be any more in the line besides Blanc Neige.

We already got some teasers from Koto, but apparently now it’s time for more–a LOT more! Six more, five of which are brand new. I know I sound like a broken record, but stop with all the teasers! Leave some mystery for the event! The old figure is no surprise, their Mistral who was sculpted in scans will be painted. As for new, we’ve got another Shining girl-Panis from Shining Ark. Apparently Stephen will be the first to get his wish!
Then there’s Kobato from Boku wa, which I am pretty surprised to see though she’s adorable. We also have more Muv-Luv, but old Muv-Luv: Meiya Mitsurugi! The apple-on-her-head kitty Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi will be there as well, she sure does seem to be popular! And last and kind of least based on popularity is Maou from Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, who has pink hair and horns.

Tony Taka’s Shining World characters and games have to be one of the longest-lasting figure franchises. I can’t think of another franchise that has as much merchandise–Fate/Stay Night is the only one that comes close! Though Shining World wins hands-down in terms of variety. Well, maybe the Touhou girls too, but they are definitely newer. We’ve been getting figures of the Shining girls for 7 years now with no end in sight (thankfully). If anything they’ve picked up speed with the Dollfie Dreams and Alter line!
However, Kotobukiya was first on the scene and continues to be the most prolific Shining World manufacturer. Elmina here, who we saw painted a while back, is a rehash of her first figure from back in 2009. This is a lighter, more cheerful take on her based on her appearance in Shining Blade, and thankfully her pricetag is only ¥600 higher than the original release at ¥6,800. She’ll come out in May, and I am definitely considering picking her up since I don’t have any Elminas in my collection!

Four months ago, Kotobukiya announced that they’d be doing a second figure of Elmina Rhoderia from Shining Wind. This is her Shining Blade version, but as we saw in magazine scans it’s actually a resculpt/second version of their original figure from 2009. I actually find this one cuter: the hands and face are what sell me! She is also one of the very few Shining World figures I am missing, so I’m happy to have a second chance at her.

We’ve actually already seen Alter’s amazing Mistral in color, though only in magazine scans. Now we’re finally getting a (blurry) event look at her! It seems like she’ll come with two faces possibly, and we can all expect a huge pricetag. But I haven’t been this impressed with a sculpt in some time, so I am more than willing to pay for her. Oh, their Melty is painted as well, though sadly she was marked Do Not Photograph so we won’t be able to show you her. Rest assured, she looks every bit as great as you’d imagine!
[UPDATE] Updated with lovely, crisp shots from beyyang128!

Welcome to a super special double feature PVC Pre-Order Roundup! You may have noticed the absence of this feature last week, but that’s because we wanted to do a super-packed mega special awesome roundup. Not because we were really busy or anything, certainly not.
This week(s) we’ve got a whole lot going on. There are, of course, a lot of ladies (and one boy). There are some really spectacular figures, including some that I have really been looking forward to and a surprise garage kit to PVC conversion. Oh, and of course there’s the bad too, and a ton of beach figures even though it’s, you know, very cold out. Check them all out after the jump!

MegaHobby Expo Autumn 2012 is just around the corner, so it’s time for some teasers! Kotobukiya is first up with quite a few. Their Asuna is painted, and they’ll also have Elmina and Mikoto that we just saw in magazine scans. They also have a sculpt for plugsuit Cryska, and last but not least a brand-new reveal: Shiozaki Haruno from One Off! I’m not entirely sure who she is, but that art is SO cute.

Welcome to another month of scans! We’ve got tons of awesome this time, including FIVE boys! No joke, five of ‘em. Oh, and some ladies as well of course. Lolis, busty demons, kick-ass steak eaters, and graceful penguin commanders. And, of course, the necessary NSFW girls and bikini babes. Check them all out after the jump!

I’ve been waiting for about 8 months for this figure! Kotobukiya’s Shining World line was what really got me into PVC collecting, so every time there’s a new release I still get excited. And elf girls are my favorite! We finally saw the sculpt for Altina at Koto’s Autumn Showroom Expo, and now she’s all painted and nearly ready for orders.
She’ll retail for ¥8,000, not a bad price given how sky-high some companies have gone *cough*FREEing*cough*. Her release is set for April, so she’ll arrive to perfect spring weather! This is my favorite design that we’ve seen from them in a while, and I am really looking forward to her.
