  • <p><a rel="attachment wp-att-38448 slb_group[38446] slb slb_internal" href="http://www.plastikitty.com/?attachment_id=38448"></a></p> <p>We all know that ques Q likes to take on interesting sculpts, so it was really no surprise when they released <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/ques-qs-ending-version-hitagi-mayoi" target="_blank">Ending versions of Bakemonogatari’s Hitagi and Mayoi</a>, which are getting <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/ques-q-unveils-their-winter-wonder-festival-2013-exclusives" target="_blank">a recolor for Wonder Festival</a>. But the sculptor, Gekka, has done pretty much the entire cast in this style–including two new ones, Araragi and a second Hitagi, which will be in gk form at the upcoming Winter Wonder Festival!</p> <p>We have shots of those two in the gallery, along with his Shinobu, Nadeko, Tsubasa and Kanbaru, all of whom have both colored and black & white versions! I think it’s clear that ques Q will make more in the line, but who will they choose next?     Gekkakoubou’s Ending Version Koyomi Araragi & More

In fact, most of the ones in our <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/whatever-happened-to" target="_blank">first Whatever Happened To…?</a> still haven’t shown up! We did eventually get Luka and the Panty & Stocking gang, but the rest of them? Vanished! Some were cancelled, some just lost in the figure abyss.</p> <p>But time has passed, and now we have new missing figures! Quite a few, in fact. For some reason all of our March stuff was stuck together with April, creating a terrifying mega-order that nearly had our wallets jumping off a bridge. It took bout 2 weeks to get it all straightened out–which was particularly agony-inducing, as it was chock-full of figures we’d really been anticipating.     Plastikitty Loot: March 2012

    Much like January, our March order ended up coming in very late due to a mess-up on AmiAmi’s end. For some reason all of our March stuff was stuck together with April, creating a terrifying mega-order that nearly had our wallets jumping off a bridge. So basically, it’ll be gorgeous!     Astral Body’s Shinobu Gives Us a Taste of the PVC

    At Wonder Festival, Good Smile Company unveiled their grown-up Shinobu aka the “Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade” version. Cause, you know, normal names aren’t good enough for Bakemonogatari! GSC’s version is actually a mass-produced version of a garage kit by circle Astral Body’s sculptor Rooney, who also worked on Alter’s stunning Milla.

Between coverage of the <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/51st-all-japan-mokei-hobby-show-bikini-babes-fast-cars" target="_blank">Mokei Hobby Show</a> and the flood of <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/tag/nycc" target="_blank">NYCC</a> news, as well as our preparation for event coverage, I must admit that the new release of the week got a bit lost! I went back over it all last night and realized that there were a surprising number of wonderful figures that I’d totally let slip under my radar. There were the usual duds, like Beat’s bizarre new offering, but for the most part the offerings were pretty excellent!</p>

    PVC Pre-Order Roundup: 10/10~10/13

    This week had a flurry of toy news. Between coverage of the Mokei Hobby Show and the flood of NYCC news, as well as our preparation for event coverage, I must admit that the new release of the week got a bit lost! I went back over it all last night and realized that there were a surprising number of wonderful figures that I’d totally let slip under my radar. Who is blonde of course, because all loli vampires have to be blonde.</p> <p>One of the best things about this figure is how all of the other characters are hidden in the pile of donuts she is sitting on. If you know even a little bit about <em>Bakemonogatari</em> they’re easy to spot, and the attention to detail is just amazing! Shinobu herself isn’t a simple figure either, as it looks like a ton of work went into her outfit–this is great news, because GSC kind of half-assed Kanbaru and focused all of their attention on the base.</p> <p>It will be great to have the 1/8 scale line all together finally when Shinobu goes up for order this week! So far we have no pricing info or a release date, but let’s just hope it’s not January! Because they already have five scaled releases, 11 Nendoroids, and three different Petit sets for that month.     Bakemonogatari has some really spectacular character designs, and Good Smile Company has taken full advantage of this fact by doing a series that contains all of the main (female) cast. Hitagi, Nadeko, Kanbaru, Hanekawa, Mayoi, and now the loli vampire Shinobu Oshino! Who is blonde of course, because all loli vampires have to be blonde.
