I started collecting Alter’s Strike Witches line with the third release, Charlotte, and sadly I’ve been unable to complete the set since the first two (Yoshika and Sanya) are both outrageously expensive on the after-market. So I was thrilled when back in July Alter unveiled a second version of Sanya: the Rocket Booster edition! But the paint job left me wanting.
We’re getting a second preview now, and I am much happier! I still don’t love the coat but she comes with an alternate torso featuring her normal outfit along with a calmer face. Plus the antenna the first preview was missing! And the image of her with Eila, my favorite witch, looks just lovely! I really can’t wait for this release, and with only three unreleased girls (Perrine, Lynette, and Francesca) we are getting very close to wrapping up the series.
[UPDATE] Alter’s blog has shown off some official shots, as well as given us a date she is going up for order: the 3rd, tomorrow night!

We have a pretty action-packed lineup for you this time around, with almost twice as many figures as we’ve been seeing the past few months. Though let’s start up with a bit of bad news: there’s rumors from these scans that figma Strength has been cancelled! Only rumors, but anyway, let’s get onto the good.</p> <p>We’ve got lots of ladies for you, and finally the return of Good Smile Company & co in the scaled figure section. I don’t know why they went missing for so long but oh well, they’re back now with some shiny goodies. We’ve also got not one but TWO devils from the Seven Sins lineup, which is awesome because for the past few months it’s been nothing but art. Calm down their Alter, I know you like your Strike Witches but considering the snail’s pace that this line has moved it’s kind of shocking to get two at once. The first is the colored version of <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/magazine-scans-july-2012" target="_blank">their Sanya version 2</a>, complete with rocket booster! Personally I still prefer the version 1: I’m just not loving all the red in this one. However, she will come with an alternate body featuring her regular uniform which in my eyes should be much better!</p> <p>Then we have a brand new sculpt: Perrine! Alter announced all of the Strike Witches girls from the first season something like 2 years ago, and we’re still missing 2 (Francesca and Lynette), and honestly I’m surprised Perrine got done before them–she’s certainly not the most popular girl, especially compared to Lynette, but I love her! Her sculpt looks adorable. Hey Alter… how about you also re-release Yoshika so I can have a full set? That’s right, we got our last November shipment yesterday and our loot post is all ready to go. Mostly thanks to Stephen having a new computer which has really streamlined the photo process.</p> <p>Anywho, November was a particularly packed month for figures. This seemed to be a particularly good week, with a ton of figures that people were really looking forward to. Like oh, you know, the Goddess Madoka duo and the best male figure ever! We’ve also got quite a few beach figures, which is funny given how cold it is now (and how chilly it <em>will</em> be when these ladies are released), along with a poseable nurse and one laughably bad figure. ![<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-30654 slb_group[30653] slb slb_internal" href="http://www.plastikitty.com/?attachment_id=30654"></a></p> <p>We first saw Alter’s Hanna-Justina, from <em>Strike Witches 2</em>, in scans way back in <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/take-a-sneak-peak-at-this-months-magazine-scans" target="_blank">December’s magazine scans</a>. She was <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/magazine-scans-february-2012" target="_blank">painted in February</a>, and then vanished! It turns out Alter decided to go back to the master sculpt and refine her a bit, and the finished result is what we see here! She looks absolutely lovely, and might be my favorite Witch yet (sorry, Eila!).
