@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Kotobukiya’s Tekken Bishoujo Jun Kazama has been painted for a short while now, but her painted prototype was off having fun adventures in Japan during New York Comic Con so we only had the raw sculpt to work with–but sometimes that can be a lot more telling than anything else!
I have to admit that she’s not my favorite of the Tekken lineup, mainly because I find her overall design, pose and outfit a bit boring compared to some of the more flamboyant characters. But she’s got the classic Shunya mix of strength and sex appeal, without crossing that line into overt tackiness. Her sculpt looks so great here that she’s definitely winning me over!

Video games are a great pass time for many of us, but when we’re not playing video games, it’s great to have figures of our favorite characters to look at! We already showed you that Cammy and Juri are next up in the Street Fighter world, but before they hit the shelves next year, Chun Li will kick her way into stores in February. In the world of Tekken, Ling Xiayou and Jun Kazama were shown off, who will come out in November and March, respectively. After all of the fighting game announcements, it was revealed that the Halo franchise will be seeing its return to the ArtFX line, which many fans will be happy to hear. Last, a Batman 1/10th scale ArtFX+ from Arkham City was shown off along with an announcement that Arkham Origins figures are also in the works.

It’s hard to believe that Kotobukiya’s Tekken Bishoujo line started up two years ago. Time has really flown, and it seems like it was a much more recent occurrence! But we’ve gotten quite a few lovely ladies in the line–Jun here will actually be the seventh girl to get a sculpt.
So far we’ve seen variety in terms of design, but most of the fighters have been presented in a kind of cutesy manner, especially Alisa and Xiaoyu. When we saw Jun’s art I was really hoping they’d go in a different direction, and her sculpt looked promising. She’s painted now and, well, she definitely doesn’t look cute! Sexy, badass, a little forlorn almost with that “looking off into the distance” vibe. And finally, a Tekken bish with the classic Shunya butt! I suppose Jaycee counts but Jun definitely tops her. I think she’ll make an excellent pair with Asuka (review)! Though her armpit area looks a little weird… or is it just me?

We’ve already shown you the two new Bishoujos at SDCC, Jun Kazama and Chun-Li, but of course Kotobukiya brought a whole lot more to SDCC! The new Xiaoyu was there, along with many of the other Tekken girls: Alisa, Asuka (review), Jaycee, and Lili!
There’s also a more detailed look at the new girls in the gallery–Chun-Li’s sculpt is growing on me the more I see it. While at first I definitely wasn’t a fan, I love that they went with a more action-y pose. Plus they gave her such a strong and muscled physique, which I always love to see on a figure! You might notice that we snuck the Halo announcement in here because who knows, maybe there will be a Cortana Bishoujo? Pretty please, Kotobukiya?

Kotobukiya always brings a few new Bishoujos to San Diego Comic Con–it’s pretty much a guarantee, and it looks like this time they are going all out on the game line! They’ve got two new girls, along with a vague outline for Street Fighter Bishoujo Cammy who was announced a very long time ago.
In the sculpt department we’ve got the recently announced Jun Kazama, whose simpler pose came out surprisingly nicely. She looks so elegant! Then we have Chun-Li, whose art just got a reveal so I am surprised we are seeing her sculpted this quickly. She looks good, though I am still not a big fan of the pose. She also looks BIG, huge next to the girls she is displayed next to!

It has been about a year and a half since the announcement of Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo Xiaoyu from Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride. A little under a month ago an early prototype shot leaked and fans were… not happy, to put it lightly. But it turned out that the face was not anywhere near complete, and the shot was quickly pulled. Of course fans were still in a tizzy over the ordeal, but now we’re getting the actual promo shots and she looks a hell of a lot better!
I’m a big fan of the “spunky adorable almost-loli” trope, cliche as it may be, so of course I find Xiaoyu friggin adorable. Twintails, pompoms, bright colors, sign me up! And, of course, she’s got Shunya Yamashita’s signature doe eyes. And while she may be flat chested Shunya made sure to compensate for that in the hips and butt department. Xiaoyu should be hitting US shelves in November, so expect an October Japanese release date.

We’ve known for quite some time now that Xiaoyu would be added to the Tekken Bishoujo line–in fact, it’s been well over a year now and we’ve heard nary a peep about her sculpt, which is weird even though this line is a bit slow moving. But now we’re getting all the news at once! No grey sculpt, but the paint & sculpt all at once.
I’m not sold on the face at all (as per usual with this branch of the Bishes it seems) since it doesn’t have the cuteness of the original art but I do LOVE the pose! So cute! And the colors are wonderful, we really don’t get enough orange figures. Plus pompoms, how can you not love pompoms on the feet? I’m sure we’ll get the usual complaints about “oversexualixed blah blah blah” but come on, it’s Tekken. I think they did a great job transferring her from art to sculpt.
[UPDATE] Seems like this might be an early prototype, so for those hoping for face changes they may be in your future! Thanks, Giolon.
[UPDATE #2] So it turns out that this image was leaked early, and not only is it a very early prototype but the face is not even finished at all and was not meant to be seen by the public! We’ve removed it at the request of Kotobukiya, so don’t worry, changes are definitely being made.

If you’re a long-time Plastikitty reader, you probably already know that Shunya Yamashita has illustrated pretty much the entirety of the Tekken cast already. But if we know one thing, it’s that Shunya likes to draw. A lot. There’s no stopping this guy! So it’s no surprise that in his new artbook, Beautiful Noise, he’s got even more Tekken ladies in store for us.
The most important is probably Michelle Chang, who as we’ve surmised is probably the next Tekken Bishoujo. But here we’ve got his full art with the proper background, and this is probably what we’ll see for her Bish announcement! We’ve also got Kunimitsu (want please!), Miharu in a swimsuit, and an absolutely stunning Angel. I mean… look at her. I NEED THIS. Right now. You all know my weakness for winged ladies knows no bounds!

Kotobukiya’s Tekken Bishoujo line has hit some bumps along the way, but no figure more so than Lili. Her original promotional shots were just… off. There was something odd about her face, more specifically her hair and bangs which made her look kind of manly and strange and totally nothing like the art. Even seeing her in person didn’t win me over.
But Kotobukiya listens to their customers more than any other company, and they’ve decided to totally redo her from the neck up! Now she looks a heck of a lot more like the source art and I think her face is quite pretty. Plus, you know, she has one of the best Bish butts so far.

It’s been a while since we got an announcement for Kotobukiya’s Tekken Bishoujo line: they had the art for Xiaoyu up for WonFest, but she was announced ages ago! I thought for sure it would be Michelle Chang since she has art and everything, but it seems like that’s not the plan: Jun Kazama is next! Of course we’ve already seen this art too, in fact I bet all the Bishoujo figures will be based on that set!
Jun is looking nice, with a less action-based pose than some of the other girls. With her less simple costume, I’m hoping the sculpt really shines so she stands up to the rest of the line.
