Tekken Bishoujo Archive

  • Kotobukiya’s foray into the world of video games is fairly new (I mean, if you discount the anime-styled Shining World and Tales of, etc), and seems to be mainly focused on the Bishoujo style figures. Which, given the outfits most of these girls wear, is not surprising. We already brought you the two new pieces of game Bishoujo news (Poison and Anna Williams), but Anna’s sister Nina Williams was on hand too, along with Juri and Chun-li! But who is going to take care of all these ladies? Why Master Chief, of course. Girls can’t resist a guy in armor.

  • We’ve already shown you a lot from Kotobukiya’s jam-packed NYCC panel: Marvel, DC, Star Wars, the new Superman ArtFX+, the continuing Horror Bishoujo line, Red Hood ArtFX+, new Star Wars goodies, Tali Bishoujo, the Halo ArtFX+… but believe it or not, there’s actually more news. Of course this section of the panel contained lots of stuff that we’ve already seen before, like the Attack on Titan line, Shiro, and some of the newer Bishoujos (like the recently shown off art for Poison and sculpt for Anna Williams), but there’s one new announcement: Kotobukiya will be doing Alien figures! Xenomorph ArtFX? Ripley Bishoujo? Jones ArtFX+? Only time will tell.

  • Some musical accompaniment I must admit, I was a bit taken aback by the reveal of Anna Williams’ art. It didn’t exactly scream “I am going to kick your ass!” More like, “hey check out my ass.” And at first, I was not at peace with this. But time has passed, I have seen the light (um, sculpt), and I take back what I said. I mean… really now. It’s like she was made for me.

  • Kotobukiya had a lot of Bishoujo teasers lined up for their gaming division: art for both Anna and Sakura, and we had hints that there would probably be a sculpt as well. But boy oh boy did they deliver at this event! The art for Anna and Sakura is out on display (note: right now we don’t have a good angle on Anna, we’re working on it!) and Juri is sculpted and I NEED HER SO BAD. Then there are two brand-new, unteased announcements: Chun-Li will be getting a second, pink outfit and Poison will be joining the Street Fighter lineup! OH HAPPY DAY [UPDATE] Full art for Anna has been added via Harada! [UPDATE 2] Art for Sakura added via Koto {Please note that transphobia in the comments, including use of the word “trap,” will not be tolerated} [via Piziitoys’ Facebook]

  • Well, Tekken fans, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is here! Or, you know, the moment I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been dying to see Anna Williams added to the Tekken Bishoujo line, especially since we have that full set of Shunya art for the characters. But as we’ve seen with Nina Williams, Koto isn’t sticking with the original illustrations–and Anna is getting some changes too it seems! For one, they won’t be recreating the pattern on her dress which kind of bums me out. But at the same time that’s kind of impossible to do on a figure, so I get it. Still… those flowers! She also seems to be in a more action-oriented pose that also isn’t a boob & butt one, hooray! [via Kotobukiya’s Facebook]

  • It was literally only yesterday that we got the preview images of Bishoujo Nina Williams, but since they were from comic shops and not Kotobukiya themselves it was only the front and back angles. Unsurprisingly we are getting the 360 shots today, and it only solidifies how terribly mixed my feelings about her are. I love the outfit, the colors, and the face. It’s so close to the art! But the pose. The damn pose. The close-up back shot makes it clear that human bodies just don’t do that. She’s an Escher Girl. Sigh. In the gallery we’ve included Shunya’s original art of Nina, where she’s a badass holding a gun. Not cheesecake-y enough for Mr. Yamashita, I guess. However, I still like everything else about Nina enough to own her… I am just 100% done with Shunya’s boobs-and-butt pose fetish. [via Kotobukiya’s Facebook]

  • It’s been a few days since Kotobukiya showed us that teaser image of Bishoujo Nina Williams, so it’s no surprise that the full reveal is coming today! It is, however, a surprise that the full shots are coming from comic shops and not Kotobukiya’s Facebook–but they are a bit busy planning SDCC exclusive reveals for later in the afternoon. Exciting! So, Nina. Oh Nina. Your spine is so broken. Shunya, stop it with the boobs & butt poses! I can handle it in small doses, but the pose kind of ruins this figure for me. I love her hair, I think they face is executed really well, her outfit is awesome, she’s got the signature Bish butt, but.. that pose… her poor spine!

  • Back in February we found out that Nina Williams would be the next Tekken Bishoujo to join their quickly-expanding lineup. Figures in this particular Bishoujo category have varied greatly in the time it’s taken to get from art to sculpt, so I wasn’t sure how long we would be waiting on miss Williams, but it seems like she is all done and ready for her closeup! While she’s not one of my favorite girls I do appreciate that she is, you know, clothed, and I do love a good blue-based color scheme. It looks like we should be getting the full reveal very soon! • WonderCon was this weekend, and while Stephen and I would love to attend every convention… well, we sadly can’t! But there are always others hard at work pumping out news, so thankfully we can always bring you juicy new info. This time around there’s some Bishoujo updates! The sculpt for Jason Voorhees looks near finished, and we have a rough one for Nina Williams. But the big news is both the announcement AND art reveal for Batwoman! I expected she’d join the lineup soon, seeing as how we already have many of the villains, Batgirl, and the full Birds of Prey lineup. I’m so happy the pose isn’t cheesecake’d up, she looks lovely. • The Bishoujo line is Kotobukiya’s bread and butter, especially for the US market, so of course they had a ton on hand for this year’s Toy Fair! Sadly no new announcements since it seems like they’ve been posting all the high-res art to Facebook, but we got a close look at a lot of the new designs! Freddy & Jason, Jubilee, Nina Williams and Juri. A few sculpts were on display as well, including the totally gorgeous Spider-Woman whose final base we are finally getting a peek at! Of course we will have full behind-the-glass galleries of all the brand-new sculpts later on as well~
