Apparently, Japan exists in a place where it is perpetually spring & summer. That, or people just post warm-weather photos year-round. But I’m gonna throw Occam’s Razor out the window on this one because always-spring seems very, very nice right about now. In New York it’s icy cold but we don’t even have any snow. Thanks, Sugar! You’re the worst snow fairy.
We’ve got a whole new set of Nendoroid Adventures for you today, and it’s actually been quite a while since the last one! Thankfully there’s some variety here: a whole lot of Miku, of course, but also Asuna, Kirito, Sonico, and many other cuties off riding bikes, swimming, and getting into all sorts of mischief. Nendoroid photography has always been something that interested me but I can never work up the energy to put in all that effort: it just takes so much time! So congrats to all the people who can pull off shots as awesome as the ones in this gallery.

When it comes to goofy photoshoots for new releases, it’s hard to beat Hobby Search’s photography team. I guess sitting around all day dealing with cranky figure collectors complaining about orders must spark their creativity! This time it’s the Hello Kitty Revoltech–the second I saw this item pop up on AmiAmi I knew she was destined for some amazing photos, but I really never would have thought of half of these.
We’ve got your usual headswaps (Hello Kitty on a buff body, Hello Kitty on a sexy figure, gundam head on Hello Kitty), the now-required shot with Mikudayo, a standoff with a bunch of kitties… and a whole lot of other weirdness. There’s some more normal cutesy ones, like the shot with Isabelle, but man… this is just a wonderfully bizarre photoset. Check them all out in the gallery!

Animal Crossing is one of those franchises that I look back upon with misty fondness, but up until a few months ago I was pretty sure it wasn’t something I’d ever really get back into. Well, New Leaf probably proved that wrong for a lot of us, and I’ve put a scandalous amount of hours into that game. (Seriously, I had a legitimate problem for a while there. Island bug catching ruled my life).
So my opinions on the Isabelle/Shizue Nendoroid are quite different now than they were originally. While I still wish it were Tom Nook, I’m no longer disappointed by the character choice. And as Hobby Search’s awesome photography team is here to show us, she just might be one of the best Nendos for hilarious photos. We’ve got a gallery packed full of all kinds of cuteness, everything from the mayor’s office brought to life to surprise visits from Pedobear and an alpaca (no, I don’t know what is up with Japan and alpacas. It’s weird, right?). So sit back, relax, put on some soothing Animal Crossing music, and enjoy the gallery!

One of the darlings of the past Winter Wonder Festival and Spring Miyazawa Model Exhibition was undoubtedly Kotobukiya’s Kobato Hasegawa. She was everything you could want in a figure: beautifully sculpted, adorable, with a great paint job, liberal but tasteful use of clear PVC and a gorgeous base.
Now she’s out, and of course Japan is off doing goofy things with her! Since, apparently, there’s no annoying peg on her leg that gets in the way of posing her off the chair. Or, you know, posing Nendo Kobato in the chair! Check out the shots in the gallery while we all wait patiently for our Kobatos to arrive.

Sometimes, when browsing scouring the internet for toy news, we come across images that make us stop in our tracks and say “HUH?” Like, what is even on here it’s so weird your mind can’t really comprehend it. Usually I just move on, but today there seemed to be an overabundance of wtf going on. So of course my first thought was “well, this has to go on the site.”
We’ve got a nice cornucopia of the bizarre and strange for you: everything from Sailor Moon cosplay (tame!) to Billy Herrington as a Pokemon (not so tame). Everything here is safe for life, but perhaps not so safe for your sanity.

So by now I’m sure you all know that Toda Satoshi has sculpted a Saber Bride, and that Gift has officially picked up the sculpt and will be adding it to their growing collection of Sabers. Seriously, the only one they haven’t made into a figure is the brand new Saber from Apocrypha and like Saber Lion (someone please make a PVC Saber Lion). But Toda’s Saber Bride came out as a garage kit first which can only mean one thing… customization!
Someone has decided to give her a dark, gloomy recolor that I am so in love with. Just look at all the details! She looks so much cooler this way, in fact I think we should petition Gift to do an official recolor. I don’t care if she never shows up in the game like this and it was just from one fan’s imagination. I need her like burning.

…get it? Because they are literally seals? I hope you weren’t expecting anything dirty.
I’m not really sure why someone decided to make Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica into, well, seals, but I sure am glad they did. I mean, they just reek of cuteness overload. The little chubby cheeks, the squishy seal bodies, the FACES. Dear lord, just looking at them for too long will make your teeth rot. So if someone could jut, um, get me a few of these that would be great.

Given the popularity of Sword Art Online, we really haven’t seen a ton of figures of the heroine Asuna. Sure, there’s the gorgeous one from Kotobukiya, the exclusive from Volks, the Dollfie Dream, and the more recent sculpt from Chara-Ani, but we’ve heard nothing from the more higher-end companies like Alter, Max Factory or Good Smile Company. What gives!
Of course fans have taken the situation into their own hands and put together some customs. Today it’s a wedding version of Asuna! Or rather, a wedding night version of the lovely lady, featuring some beautiful but skimpy lingerie. While the face isn’t exactly accurate, you have to give them props for trying! I’d like to see Max Factory do a version similar to this, since they seem to be going this way with the ToLove Ru girls…

When they announced a Nendoroid Iron Man, I think we were all too tickled by how silly his face looked to realize the amazing potential of this figure. Because, like every Nendoroid, his faceplates are fully swappable with any other recent Nendo. Which means, yes, you can put all kinds of wacky stuff inside his helmet… but you can also put his manly face on other Nendos.
Now that he’s been released his full abilities have been unlocked! Watch the Strike Witches get a body upgrade, see Tony Stark attempt a regular life in Japanese high school, marvel at the goofy faces he gets. It’s all under the jump!

I have always wondered why there aren’t Evangelion Nendoroids. In terms of merchandise & figures Eva is arguably the most all-time popular anime–we have tons of scaled figures, figmas, bigger action figures, trading figures, even Dollfie Dreams, but no damn Nendoroids! Why Good Smile, whyyy. Just give us mini Asuka and Mari. Or in the case of these two amazing customs, Shinji and Kaworu!
That’s right, the amazing duo has been made into Nendoroid form. These are absolutely spot on, and you can tell that the customizer is a huge Evangelion fan! The gallery we have for you today is only a small peek into what they have done with these two, but it’s utterly amazing. There’s a lot of cosplay (and, of course, crossplay). Have you always wanted to see Shinji & Kaworu in Madoka Magica gear? Dressed as Soniko? Popping out of Teddie’s body? Well we’ve got all that and a whole lot more–check them out after the jump!
