In the past, Max Factory has taken on the girls from Shining Tears and Shining Wind in swimsuit lineups: only in groups of four, and their Shining Hearts line is far more ambitious. It includes not four, but 9 girls. Yes, 9! Lorna, Mistral, Xiao-Mei, Melty, Neris, Aerie, Amil, Kaguya, and Rufina. These popped up in magazine scans well over a year ago, and it seems only now are they officially being like “oh yeah, we’re totally doing these!” But considering how amazing the past 8 girls came out, I am more than willing to wait.
We have designs for 7 of the 9 in the gallery–Kaguya and Rufina aren’t done yet, though Rufina might be the one I am looking forward to the most. Okay, okay, I am looking forward to them all the most! Except maybe the three bakery sisters, who happen to be a bit dull compared to twintailed pirates, winged princesses, wolf girls, cat girls and elf goth lolis. But there’s no doubt that once completed, this set will be totally spectacular!

Just kidding, I talk about it all the time and at this point I’m sure you are all rolling your eyes at me. “God, Leah, shut up about the elf girls already!” Well I will not shut up, because this is my website and today we are reviewing a lovely elf lass! And really, there are not a ton of elven figures out there–not nearly enough, in my opinion.</p> <p>But thankfully Tony Taka seems to like them almost as much as I do, and with Kotobukiya making (almost) every girl from every Shining World game, we are guaranteed to get at least an elf or two a year. Last time it was the adorable loli Melty (<a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/plastikitty-review-kotobukiyas-18-melty" target="_blank">review</a>) but this time around we are getting a more natural elf based on the sylphs (no, her name has nothing to do with syphilis–stop giggling!). We have a pretty action-packed lineup for you this time around, with almost twice as many figures as we’ve been seeing the past few months. Though let’s start up with a bit of bad news: there’s rumors from these scans that figma Strength has been cancelled! Only rumors, but anyway, let’s get onto the good.</p> <p>We’ve got lots of ladies for you, and finally the return of Good Smile Company & co in the scaled figure section. I don’t know why they went missing for so long but oh well, they’re back now with some shiny goodies. We’ve also got not one but TWO devils from the Seven Sins lineup, which is awesome because for the past few months it’s been nothing but art. I mean, first off, it was the April illustration for his 2013 calendar–my birth month! Second, she has so many fantastic elements–soft pastel colors, twintails, wings, an amazing outfit, and it’s Tony freaking Taka!</p> <p>Now we aare getting a look at the sculpt, and she looks phenomenal! We also have a name (Daisy-chan) along with a scale. She will be 1/6, and Koto doesn’t joke around about that scale. She is going to be BIG. There are many others that have taken on his art, the second most notable being Chieri, but none more consistently or reliably than Miyagawa. And always with Clayz, who sadly is far from the most reliable company when it comes to sleek and beautifully produced figures. Which is really a shame, because a Tony x Miyagawa production usually means something special.</p> <p>This time it’s two original characters of Tony Taka’s, much like his Cat Maids who <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/pvc-pre-order-roundup-414418" target="_blank">just got a re-release</a>! As I mentioned back then they’re some of my favorite figures so I do have a bit of faith in Clayz this time around. The sculpt is obviously still very rough but it goes look lovely, and based on the colored art these are going to be just gorgeous! Is it just me, or have scans kind of tapered off in intensity? I feel like several companies have kind of “dropped out” of the Hobby Japan scans, namely Good Smile Company & co. We really don’t get many big reveals from them anymore! In fact, the scans pretty much seem to be “check out what cool things MegaHouse has, with some stuff from Alter and Kotobukiya on the side. Oh, and maybe Orchid Seed will pop up too!”</p> <p>Decline of the scans or not, we do have a pretty action-packed month for you! Well, if you’re a MegaTen fan at least. That’s how I felt when I saw AlphaMax’s new Tony Taka figure <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/miyazawa-model-exhibition-spring-2013-nsfw-alphamax" target="_blank">at Miyazawa Model Exhibition</a>. I’m a huge Tony Taka fangirl as you may know and I snatch up (almost) any figure with his name attached to it, so of course I own quite a few at this point. But this fetching lady, who seems to be named Ringo, tops them all.</p> <p>Her face! It’s the closest I have ever seen a company come to Tony’s artwork, and some of them have come pretty damn close in the past. She’s just… perfection. So much so that I couldn’t pick between the two big event galleries of her. First <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/miyazawa-model-exhibition-spring-2013-kotobukiyas-kobato" target="_blank">Kobato</a>, then <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/miyazawa-model-exhibition-spring-2013-aoshimas-sena" target="_blank">Sena</a>, now a second Sena?! Well I’m not going to complain since I am a big fan of the character design. AlphaMax has already taken on miss Sena, but this time she is in 1/6 scale and in her infamous cow outfit. Not something you see a lot of! It’s just ridiculous, in a hilariously good way.</p> <p>The second figure is another Tony Taka girl from them, this time an original (and NSFW) character. Recently they’ve been doing the ladies from <em>Fault!</em>, and pretty darn well. AlphaMax seems to have really gotten the hang of his faces, and this is one of the best renditions of his art I’ve seen. I mean she’s got wings: that alone is usually enough to sell me on a figure. Add in clear PVC and of course I’m drooling and pawing at my screen. Panis, get released faster!</p> <p>We’re getting to take a closer look at her now, though sadly only with one of five of her display options: both white wings. Not that I mind so much, but one white one black is definitely my favorite of the bunch.
