When I first saw that ques Q was showing off a Remilia sculpt, I got so excited. Finally, that art they showed off ages ago was going to be in 3D! But NOPE. This is a different Remilia! That they haven’t even announced before. That’s right, announcement and sculpt in one (which is pretty rare for ques, especially with Touhou). WHY.
Okay, this is an awesome figure. It’s crazy Remilia! Koumajou Densetsu ver, or the Touhouvania Remilia one if you prefer. I mean we rarely get the Scarlet sisters looking evil, and now they’ve given us both of them. But…. where’s my first Remilia? Come on, ques Q. Get it together!

It’s been a while since we saw the last Touhou Dollfie Dream–Cirno, over a year ago! I was hoping the next one would be Yukari Yakumo or one of her minions, but I’m disappointed (but not surprised) to find out that it’s Youmu Konpaku. Honestly I’m not really a Youmu fan, since she has one of the blander designs, but I also find the Touhou Dollfies impossibly hard to get so I’m actually glad this isn’t a “must-get” for me!

Usually you expect a mix of ToHeart ladies and weird chicks on bicycles and stuff from Kaitendoh and WonFest. Well.. okay, we have one bicycle figure, but it seems like they’ve moved their attention to Eiyuu*Senki! Who would have guessed. Weird, right? They have King Arthur and Drake sculpted, and teaser art for Ivan Raitei that makes it look like the final figure might not be safe for work. Then there’s an awesome sculpt from Battle Coliseum and announcements for figures from Pastel Chime 3 and Dungeon Travelers 2.
[UPDATE] The Battle Coliseum figure & King Arthur are from Embrace Japan, not Kaitendoh. Sorry for the error! They also announced a figure of Youmu Konpaku.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t hate Griffon. Yes, many of their figures are laughbly derpy and they screw up pretty often. But every once in a while they get it totally right: I dare you to look at their Ellis and tell me she sucks in any way. So open your mind up just a little, because they had a sculpt or two at WonFest that were totally awesome! Mainly the whooshy girl from Vividred Operation that looks like KOS-MOS (what’s up with that?) who I kind of need right now. Their kitty Kirino is also painfully cute, though they are doing a standing version of her that doesn’t look so hot. And their Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi line looks promising: Aoi Mukou has pink hair and is holding a cat, which I totally cannot resist, and they announced a matching Sone Miyuki.
They also had sculpts for Yukimura Kusunoki, Asuka, Nyaruko, Haruka Kotoura and Benkei Musashibou, though only the latter caught my attention. As for announcements… they had plenty! They’ll be doing Saber again (the last time she was topless!), along with the Rozen Maiden dolls. We also have Shimakaze from Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ (AGAIN oh my godd why is she so popular), Himawari Shinomiya in a swimsuit, Tsukiko & Tsukushi Tsutsukakushi (also in swimsuits), and lastly Yozora Mikazuki in a witch outfit (which I am very excited for–matching Sena please!)

We just did a huge garage kit roundup to show you what you could snag at Summer Wonder Festival (which is tomorrow night!), but some companies like to wait until the very last moment to show off the goods. Like, 30 hours before the event. Usually we just kind of ignore those because they are often sub-par but there was NO way I was not going to feature this cutie on the site.
Yutaka House’s Devil Cirno might not be the most traditional take on the ice fairy, but the sculpt is just so lovely. The gorgeous figure photography doesn’t hurt either! I’d really like to see figure companies take on some more ambitious Touhou art, aside from ques Q they all seem to be… traditional. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I want more PVC like this! If you want to paint this kit yourself it will retail for ¥10,000 and I’m guessing it will sell out quickly.

I’ve gotten to a point where I really hate Wonder Festival teasers. It’s like when you are a little kid and you peek at your Christmas presents: it ruins the surprise! But Good Smile Company just loves to bombard us with teaser after teaser, and Mikatan went all out this year so let’s dive right in. We have peeks at only two scaled figures, the just-announced Uzuki Shimamura and yet another Madoka Kaname (kill me now), this time a dynamic version of her in her regular outfit! It’s based on art of all 5 of the main girls… you know what that means.
As for Nendos, we have a ton. Quite a few from last WonFest are updated: Aegis is scupted, Strength is painted & sculpted, Aya is finished, and Rina Ozawa is sculpted! As for the new we’ve got Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan (no surprise there), Makoto Naegi from Dangan Ronpa (who is only kind of new because we’ve seen him before), Saber Alter, Tomoko Kuroki from Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera, and Sakura Mai from Photokanon. But don’t worry, I’m sure they’ve got 20 other new Nendos to show off at the event.

We tend to focus on PVC coverage during Wonder Festival because, well… those are the things most of us can buy! But really, there are about ten times as many garage kits at the event as pre-painted PVC. Actually… that might be underestimating it, the garage kit area is HUGE!
We’ve already shown you some of the kits that will be at the event like Purple Heart, Yagyuu Toshiyuki’s Marisa Kirisame, an acrobatic Saber Bride, chibi Saber Lily, Toda Satoshi’s terrifying Passionlip, and Coneckers’ Momiji. But of course there are a ton more, and we’ve got some really lovely kits this time around. My personal favorites are Vispo’s astonishing Jeanne d’Arc & her horse–though Jeanne seems very popular this WonFest!–, the bathing suit IDOLM@STER trio, the gory Labrys, and Atelier Hiro’s punk rock Miku Hatsune. And my oh my do we have a lot of Mikus. Chec them all out (and plenty more) in the gallery!

Whoo, scans. Pardon my lack of enthusiasm, but the week leading up to Wonder Festival always has me dreading scans. It means extra features (garage kit roundup and wishlist) on top of, well, the event coverage and we have three reviews to work on this week! So when I remembered scans were tonight I nearly cried. For real, ask Stephen.
So, let’s just dive right in. Wow, such figures! So PVC! Wowwwww! Maybe I’ll just do every post in Shibe…

If you’re a PVC figure collector, chances are you have (or have lusted after) one of Yagyuu Toshiyuki’s sculpts. He’s one of Alter’s best sculptors and my personal favorite. He’s worked on ladies like Dizzy (review), Panty (review), Princess of Crystal, and their upcoming Aty. But when he wants to sculpt a lady Alter either doesn’t have the license for or isn’t in the mood to produce, he turns to his garage kit circle ReplyFrom… (yes, the ellipses is part of their name).
We’ve seen some amazing pieces in this vein before, like the recent Miku Hatsune or a past Touhou girl, Remilia Scarlet. This time, though, I’m so sad it’s a garage kit I want to cry. Marisa is one of my favorite Touhou girls and this figure of her is so utterly perfect my heart is breaking into a million pieces. *sob* She’s just… everything I want… and more. *more sobbing* If you feel like risking your life at the hands of garage kit fanatics, head on over to his booth at Summer Wonder Festival. And pick up a kit for me while you’re at it!
