Touhou Project Archive

It has been many, many years, but my long-awaited badass Remilia is finally up for order. Such a long wait, and so so worth it at the end. So what’s ques Q to do now that my grail is finally attainable? Make some other badass ladies. Hopefully not for, like, 4 years though. I want this Reimu before 2019.
This is the “Koumajou Densetsu ver” (same as Remilia) and it looks, well, pretty awesome. I’d like a more dynamic pose, but all that swirling clothing and hair should look cool regardless. I wonder if we’ll get more in the line? I’d love so many of the Touhou girls in this badass style.

Ques Q doesn’t seem to put out figures that often anymore… but I guess they plan on changing that because they had a LOT at Wonder Festival. So let’s just dive right in! We’ve got lots and lots of Kantai Collection of course, and tons of Touhou Project–but most importantly, that evil Remilia LIVES! Finally, progress! There’s a cute sculpt from Working!!, and adorable Alice Cartelet, finally the Rocket Sonico, Rory Mercury, and Arnval Mk.2 who is doing something very strange to her boobs.
But that’s not the shocker. There’s SO MANY ANNOUNCEMENTS. Bunny Selvaria, bunny Misae Suzuhara, Miho & Darjeeling from Girls und Panzer, Northern Princess, swimsuit Cyan, Prinz Eugen, Teruzuki, Fate/Grand Order Lancer… how are they planning on making so many??

Like every year, there are too many Nendoroids. We showed you some: Sakura, Batman & Supes, Deadpool, Meta Knight, Zelda, Hotaru, and of course my boo Kylo. But there’s more. So much more, guys, I wanna cry whenever I look at this gallery. It’s TOO MANY. But, you know, they’re all cute.
We’ve got more Kantai Collection Nendos than anyone needs, lots of boys from Orange Rouge including, of course, Touken Ranbu out the butt, the adorable Ainz from Overlord, Nendoroid Co:de outfits for Miku Hatsune, Fire Emblem, Mega Man, and SO MUCH MORE. Because there are so many, we have both the full gallery after the jump AND a full list of everyone (compiled by Stephen, because you all know I am too lazy for that).

Good Smile Company’s Touhou Project Nendoroid line was all the rage when it started… years and years ago. We awaited the next release anxiously, and though they were all exclusives we scrambled for them anyway. It kind of dropped off a couple years ago, and while we still do get releases (slowly) it just doesn’t have that spark. But while I’ve basically forgotten about the line as a whole, I’m excited for Koishi: she is one of my favorite girls, and I think they translated her elaborate design really well to Nendo form.
The colors are, of course, the star here: gorgeous bright pastels with some really nice shading. Her intricate design may be the main focus but of course we have extras! She comes with great faces (regular, winking, and smiling) and bonus heart hands. So not a lot, but enough cute goodies for me to be satisfied. Like all Touhou merch she is exclusive: you have lots of options if you are in Japan, but most of us will have to go through the GSC shop. Orders open tonight!

The Touhou Project Nendoroid line is probably Good Smile Company’s longest endeavor, mainly because it’s ages between each release. They can pump out the entire cast of Love Live (twice!) in a year, but the Touhou girls? Yeah, it’s gonna be like 5 years before we finally see all of them. Okay, obviously not ALL of them, but the planned ones.
Next up is Koishi Komeji. Her sister, Satori, is of course getting a Nendoroid too and I have to say I’m surprised they didn’t sculpt them at the same time. Part of me was kind of hoping for a set! But alas, it’s just Koishi today. She does look super cute, and her weird string-tentacle things have been rendered really well. Of course her design charm is really in the colors, so that will be the true test of awesomeness.

Like always, there were way too many Nendoroids at Wonder Festival. There are just so many now, it’s overwhelming. But we already looked at some of the more important ones: Hestia, the Nintendo ones, MegaMan, One Punch Man, the Orange Rouge boys, and Joker. But oh man are there a lot more. So let’s just dive right in!
We’ve got some movie based Nendos, like Anna from Frozen and a few more Avengers (Captain America and Iron Man–again). Tons of KanColle too: Shoukaku, Akashi, Akitsushima, Katori, Taihou, Zuikaku, Fubuki, and Ooyodo. Touhou Nendos are coming back with the Komeiji sisters. Plus, Vocaloid Kasane is sculpted. What else? We’ve got Nipako, more Cinderella Girls (Nao Kamiya and Karen Hojo), Alice Cartelet, boy outfits in the Wedding line, and SO MANY MORE. Check them all out after the jump!
[UPDATE] It seems like GSC decided to sneak in their new Solid Snake Nendoroid as well. !

Recently, ques Q has been ALL ABOUT Kantai Collection. And this year… yeah, no changes. Their booth is like 70% KanColle. So let’s just dive right in. We’ve got figures of Kongou, Haruna, Atago, Ooi, Yukikaze, Kirishima, Nagato, Naka, Takao and more. Then we’ve got announcements for Northern Princess (!!) and Ro 500, along with the previously announced Hibiki.
Sadly, Love Bomber Sonico did not make an appearance (though they have art for her out). There’s some Touhou Project (Patchy and FINALLY the evil Remilia), along with announcements like Lancer from Fate/Grand Order. How… how many Fate versions are there?

Can you believe that we are on the fourteenth Touhou Poject Nendoroid? They used to be a really big deal, but now it’s ~yawn~ yup, another one! I guess when you have enough of a good thing it becomes kind of boring. Though honestly, I was never that hyped for Patchouli Knowledge–she has never been one of my favorites, which is weird because of my extreme loves for both books and purple. I think it’s because I hate (and I mean HATE) patchouli. Eeeurgh. Yeah yeah she doesn’t actually smell like patchouli. But I don’t want to think about it!
Anyway, Patchy is finally completed! And even I can admit that she looks pretty cute. She has a nice variety of faces, and of course comes with glasses and books. Like the others she should be limited and exclusive, but Kahotan is a bit confusing on the matter–she says that orders placed on the GSC shop get a bonus poster. That should be the only place to order her… is she going to be up elsewhere? Will we finally be able to place regular orders for the Touhou girls?? Orders open tonight, so we’ll find out very soon.

I have such mixed feelings about garage kits. On one hand, it’s awesome to see all the creativity that happens when sculptors aren’t restricted by licensing agreements and the somewhat limited poses you can do with PVC. On the other hand, I can’t have them. So, you know, it’s nice to window shop but holy crap do I want motorcycle Mari so bad.
This weekend there was yet another Treasure Festa–only 13, it seems like there are a million more doesn’t it? We always see some amazing garage kits at these events, possibly even more than Wonder Festival since it’s really a gk-only convention, and this year was no exception. The wares definitely reflect current figure trends… to a point. There was almost no KanColle to be seen, but a whole lot of Sailor Moon, Super Sonico, and Vocaloids. We’ve handpicked the best of the bunch, so check them all out in the gallery!
