Well, they’re part of a set–a collaboration with Type-Moon that covers a ton of their most popular heroines. We’ve got Saber Zero, Saber Lily, regular Saber, Rin Tohsaka, Irisviel, Arcueid, Phantasmoon Eclipse, Alice Kunoji, Ciel, and Aoko Aozaki (who is also getting a full Nendoroid). There’s a nice mix here, though notably no male characters… maybe we’ll get an all-boys set next if we dream hard enough?

[via toribird1986's Twitter]

Aoko reminds me a bit of a grown-up (and twin-tail-less) Rin Tohsaka, so I really have no issue with all the love she’s getting. In fact, I’d like to see more Type-Moon girls in Nendo form: maybe Caster Extra or Arcueid will be next?

[via toribird1986's Twitter]

    Type-Moon Fest: Nendoroid Aoko Aozaki

Today is a good day for Aoko Aozaki fans: first the announcement of a Dollfie Dream, and now she’s getting a Nendoroid! In theory it was a great idea: a super-detailed Saber in her iconic armor with extra poseability. But the result was a disaster, since it was almost impossible to get her to hold poses.

Now, if they wanted a new Saber Nendoroid to celebrate her 10th anniversary, there are a ton of options: Extra, Alter, Bride, even Maid Saber. But no, instead we’re getting an alternate colorway of Super Moveable Saber. There aren’t even extra parts, she just… has some added gold lines. I can’t actually recall a true Nendoroid recolor before without added parts (though Snow Miku/Sakura Miku probably count), so this is just weird. However it’s an exclusive to Type-Moon Fes (which takes place in August) and Good Smile’s online shop for ¥4,000 with a release date of November. Let’s hope they’ve improved the joints, which would make this release worthwhile!

[via Type-Moon Fes]

Now You Can Have Even More Saber in Your Nendoroid Collection

There are a lot of different Saber Nendoroids out there, but so far all of them have offered something a little different: there’s the just-released causal clothing version, Saber Lily (who just got a re-release), Saber Lion (the best of the Sabers!), the rarer Hetare Sabers, cheerleader Saber, the new Saber Zero, and my least favorite: Super Moveable Saber. In theory it was a great idea: a super-detailed Saber in her iconic armor with extra poseability. But the result was a disaster, since it was almost impossible to get her to hold poses.
