  • I am rarely tempted by event-exclusive PVC figures or statues but I have to say, guys, I wanted Kotobukiya’s NYCC Spider-Man ArtFX+ really badly. He’s got a scarf and a warm hat and earmuffs and my goodness is he adorable! Also toasty. I mean, it was 82 for most of Comic Con (yes, in NYC in October) so he was a bit overdressed. But still cute. Kotobukiya had quite a few other Marvel cuties at their booth, like Bishoujo Ms. Marvel who was just released, and their gorgeous Statue Arts Spider-Man. Also Bish Squirrel Girl, my one true love. Check them out and more in the gallery!

  • We’ve already seen Kotobukiya’s big Marvel-related announcement from their panel (Ms. Marvel Bishoujo!), but they had a ton more news at the event. Including an update on their Spiderverse ArtFX+ line: Agent Venom is sculpted! This is not the final sculpt, as his guns and other details will be changed before the paint, but it’s nice to see some progress. We also have the order the rest will come out (Spider-Man 2099, Carnage, and finally Venom) plus this interesting tidbit: they called this the “first wave” of Spiderverse figures. Which means we should get another set! Who would you like to see in it? We also had a lot of ArtFX updates, like the limited edition black Deadpool and the crazy amount of accessories that will come with their Super Deadpool. There’s an afro, guys. Amazing.

  • Kotobukiya’s Spider-Man ArtFX+ images just came out, and given his current relevance with being in Civil War and all it’s no surprise that they’ll be doing a few more Spideys. I just definitely wasn’t expecting an announcement for, well… all of them. I’m not even joking! Kotobukiya will be doing an ArtFX+ line dedicated solely to Spidey & Pals. The center Spider-Man seems to be in the same pose as the current ArtFX+, so unless we’re getting a recolor I assume he’s the same one already up for pre-order. Then we’ve got Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Gwen, Carnage, Venom (x2!), and most importantly Ultimate Spider-Man, aka Miles, aka the most precious spider-baby. I am beyond excited to finally have a figure of him!! [via mfc]

  • We’ve shown you lots of Marvel figure offerings from Kotobukiya from the many existing figures in the bishoujo line to the new additions of Storm and Black Widow, as well as the new Spiderman and Avengers Movie ArtFX line starting with Iron Man, but there were also a lot of other statues on hand from the Marvel universe! Most of the classic Avengers group was on hand along with the announcement of the new Hawkeye that we had shown you before the show. For some reason the new updated Captain America was not on hand at the show and he appeared unpainted, but either way, he is one awesome figure. Other than what we saw back at San Diego Comic Con, not much was new other than the Spiderman and Venom announcement and Avengers movie figures, but it’s great to see everything that they’ve been working on and has been released in the last few months and will be released in the next few upcoming months. I can’t wait to see what will be added next and let us know who you’d love to see statues of from the Marvel universe in the comments below.

  • Kotobukiya has really been pushing forward with their comic merchandise, both with the Bishoujo line and their Fine Arts statues. It seems like all of a sudden, a lot of people who never cared about comics are suddenly reading all of the new DC and Marvel issues! And of course, more comic popularity means more toys. Kotobukiya has just started up a new line in their Fine Arts statues, the Amazing Spiderman! So far we have no actual figures, but there was some very nice concept art for a Spiderman and a Venom statue at the convention. They have also updated their Facebook with the official art! Both of these are set for a 3rd quarter 2012 release, and the SRP should be around $200 if they are like the rest of the Marvel statues.
