  • Chinese New Year is rolling around, which means toys! And, um, you know the actual New Year. But mostly toys. This year is the year of the snake (which just so happens to be my year, aw yeah) and Frombie is celebrating with a gorgeous print. Seriously, how pretty is that sky? Not to mention their cute jackalope pal and the dragon kite. I’m sure what captured your interest in the title was the free part, and yes, this print can be yours for no extra cost! Starting on February 8th, if you make a purchase in Frombie’s shop and enter the code SURP001 you will get one in your order if you are one of the first 25 people! Pretty sweet deal.

  • Circus Posterus had that mystery Skelve at DesignerCon that didn’t get a decent reveal before the event, but now we’re finally getting a look at it! A little late, perhaps, but thankfully there will be other releases of this cutie. In fact, both the 4-Legged Masao Skelve (run of 66, $250) and the Mini Masao (run of 100, $66) in the ‘Midnight’ colorway will be coming to the Circus Annual show on December 7th. There’s also a super-rare GID mask chase for the Mini, and if you want a shot at one of those the release will be lottery-only in the Circus Posterus forums. This might be my favorite Skelve colorway yet–I just love the sparkles! [via Circus Posterus’ Blog]

  • It’s almost the official end of summer, and the days are getting shorter and shorter. So what do you do when it’s dark at 6PM and you want to go outside? Well, just grab this new GID Little Prick from Super7 and he’ll light the way! S7’s GID vinyl is notoriously glowy, so you probably could improvise and use this little dude as a flashlight if you absolutely needed to. In fact, Stephen and I once used a GID Mummy Boy as a light to hook up some wires! But I digress; the topic at hand is this adorable pink colorway of the underpants-wearing cactus Little Prick. This colorway will retail for $35 and will go up this Thursday at Noon PST in Super7’s store (link will be active once he’s released). If you’re in need of a late night buddy, a nightlight, or just a nifty glowing cactus be sure to pick one up! [via Super7′ Blog]

  • Paul Shih is the master of making adorable food-based resin: if you need proof, just check out his sushi kauji! Now he’s working on a rather unlikely vegetable-based figure, Bevil the broccoli! But he’s no ordinary veggie, this little guy is pure (adorable) evil and is attempting to take over the world! He’s been in progress for a while now, and you can check out a bunch of the work in progress shots at Paul Shih’s blog. Now the sculpt is finished, and this is definitely a “must have” piece. I love his grumpy little face and tiny butt! I mean really, how can you not adore him? There will also be some evil broccoli themed prints, and this veggie army should be ready for release around the end of June.
