And I was definitely shocked to see a chess set at Kidrobot this year, with gorgeous art by Otto Bjornik. A cool idea in concept, but sadly it’s a little too rich for my blood. You can buy the set two ways: the first is in a double blind boxed set where you will get one pawn and one mystery royal figure + four board pieces (with the pawn in a window box so you can see the color). These retail for $19.99 each. There will also be super-limited full sets of 33: the entire white & black sets, plus the uber-rare gold chase that you can check out in the gallery.
