I’ll admit, I haven’t been the biggest fan of Wing’s Meiko Shiraki. When they showed off the art I thought she was way too busty for my taste, and the sculpt didn’t wow me either. But seeing her painted has totally changed my opinion! Okay, so we actually saw her painted before, but the lighting there really didn’t do Meiko justice.
Here she is looking totally fantastic! Look at that shading! Her hair, her face, the colors! I love that her stockings are digging into her legs realistically, and I can even overlook how large her bust is given how she has the exact opposite of balloon boobs (hooray!). And the base is pretty awesome. Wing has teased that she’s going to be cast-off as well, so I guess we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of that nice butt. Orders open tonight!

Another week, another roundup! What happened to last week’s, you ask? My dog ate it.
You probably don’t know this but I tend to write the intro for these after everything else is done, and am terrified that one day I will forget and one of my stupid placeholder sentences like “some words” or “a few butts” will pop up on the front page instead. But today is not that day! Today is the day I ramble because we have really slim pickings. Sure, there are some nice figures, but it seems like none of the big companies came out to play. No scaled figures from Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, Max Factory, even Phat! or Daiki. But of course there are some nice figures–check them out after the jump!

Wonder Festival has come and gone, but it seems like there are endless photographs from the event. We wrapped up our coverage quite some time ago, but as you know the first pictures that leak are usually from cellphones and aren’t as crisp and clean as we’d like.
Well, today we have for you a gallery with gorgeous photos of many of the figures at the event! This batch covers Good Smile Company, Max Factory, FREEing, Wing, Phat! Company and Gift. There were so many beautiful girls this WonFest, in fact I think it was the best one we’ve had in quite some time. So, Plastikitties, what here are you planning on picking up–and what was a big miss for you?

Wonder Festival is over, and you’d think companies would want to take a break before bringing out info on their new figures. But apparently Wing is already hard at work with promotional images of all their new ladies! We’ll start with Fiona, since there are two of her. The first, designed by Kazama Raita at 1/7 scale, is almost ready for orders and will retail for ¥8,800 with a June release. The second, designed by Shunya Yamashita, is still in the grey prototype stage but my goodness she is gorgeous! I really hope they make the other 2 girls from the art as well.
Then we have two figures in the S.K series, Asuna and Mikoto Misaka. I have the S.K Soniko and she’s a real cutie, very poseable without losing the chibi proportions. I am definitely looking forward to Asuna! Last but not least is Meiko, who is fully painted and looking much better than the art in my opinion. Since she’s all painted I expect orders to open soon.

Some art is just so hilariously bad that there’s nothing you can do but laugh. Take, for example, the Devil’s Cheerleader who is illustrated by (I kid you not) Rockin’ Jelly Bean. Best artist name ever? I think so. But the girl is, uh, well, she’s… her hair is nice? But the anatomy is so ridiculously strange. She’s got a boob flounder going on, a waist so small there’s no room for her organs, a butt that must be made from implants, and there is no possible way for her left leg to connect to her body. She looks like a US comics girl!
Actually, I’m kind of excited to see Wing take her on because they have taken art I really don’t like before (like Meiko) and made a pretty awesome figure that remains true to the female body without going overboard. And god knows they gave Soniko a respectable figure!
[UPDATE] We have some new info on this figure! She will be 12 inches tall with a pedestal base and should be released in late fall, and we also have a short video of the sculpt here. Her stomach area definitely looks a lot better!

Good Smile and their sister companies are never one to pass up an event, no matter what size! Now they have a table worth of goodies to show you form Miyazawa Model Exhibition… though most of them aren’t really new. There were, of course, a ton of Nendoroids, including pretty much all the ones we saw at Dengeki’s 20th. Dead Master was on hand and looking much less radioactive, and of course figma & Nendo Kirito were out and about as well!
As far as non-Good Smile stuff goes, we have the interesting Max Factory Kuroyukihime x Black Lotus figure and figma Sayaka, the Phat! Company Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls petits, and quite a few figures from Wing including Fiona, that teased Asuna (which is sadly an action figure), and Meiko who is now sculpted. Last but not least, we have some actual new announcements: FREEing is doing figures of Ichika and Remon from AnoNatsu. Finally, non-swimsuit figures of them!

Boy, Asuna sure is popular lately! She’s got a Dollfie, a Nendoroid, a figure from Volks, and a figure from Kotobukiya. Now it seems Wing, one of Good Smile Company’s umbrella corporations, is hopping on board too! They usually do busty and/or not safe for work ladies so this is definitely a change of pace for them. Unless, of course, it’s a slightly nsfw Asuna! Wing is slow, so it will probably be a while before we see her painted.

Wing sure seems to have a narrow focus when it comes to their figures. What do Soniko, Fiona, and Meiko Shiraki have in common? That’s right, giant boobs! Given that they’re the borderline-NSFW division of Good Smile Company, perhaps that’s not so surprising. They are now taking on Meiko Shiraki from the manga Kangoku Gakuen: well, at least they aren’t doing the same old characters as everyone else! In fact, aside from Soniko they really do seem to be going outside the box on their licenses. I’m not too sure how I feel about Meiko here: her bust is a little, uh, overwhelming for my taste, but the little teaser we have of her hair does look good. Wing isn’t exactly the fastest company, so it’ll probably be a while until we see her painted & up for order.

This was a rather slow week for figure orders, though it contained some long-anticipated ladies! And, yes, it’s only ladies this week. Not a boy in sight, not even in figma form! Well, there actually aren’t any figmas at all. Just kidding, there is a guy who showed up very last minute! A very manly man, and we do also have quite a few Nendoroids, a ton of busty ladies, one loli in a sea of boobs, the goofiest shoe-themed figure I’ve ever seen, and more. So check it all out after the jump!
