@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Volks sure does love KOS-MOS! Years ago they released a gorgeous 1/4 scale garage kit of her featuring her gatling gun, and later gave it a second version in a small pre-painted run with Dragontooth. Then, of course, we have the Dollfie Dream. Now they’re going back to the garage kit and giving it a third release, this time as part of the color tinted resin CharaGumin line–meaning she’ll technically be painted, but usually these need some shading & refinement before they look anything like Volks’ shots.
Given how massive this figure is (almost 22″ with Dragontooth), she comes with a hefty pricetag: ¥58,000, and that’s not including shipping (which will no doubt be brutal), or proxy fees. Because this is Volks, and they love to make every damn figure an exclusive. KOS will be at Hobby Round 9 if you have the cash: I know I wish I did!

Ah, time for more exclusives. We’ve already seen offerings from Good Smile Company and ques Q along with Sega, so who will we find in these scans? Well, a heck of a lot! Let’s dive right in with Kurushima’s crazy expensive (and crazily posed) Kanu, who will be getting a special uhh different somehow colorway for WonFest. Then we have Orchid Seed’s garage kits: the 1/5 swimsuit Soniko, Princess Milk, and Alleyne! This is a good indication that all 3 will be painted at the event. Then we have ques Q, but we’ve seen their offerings already!
Griffon has, of course, a buttload of recolors featuring their Monster Hunter Sena & Yozora in blue, a darker Youmu Konpaku, Murasa Minamitsu, Yukari Yakumo, Fujiwara no Mokou, Iku Nagae, and Keine Kamishirasawa. Phew, that’s a whole lot! Then there’s Volks who will be bringing back their 1/4 scale KOS-MOS along with garage kits of Alice from Walkure Romanze, Tamami Koshikawa from Hanairo Heptagram, their lovely Asuna, and Yukari Akiyama from Girls und Panzer.

Yesterday was the last day to order the Xenosaga Dollfies: did you take the plunge? Stephen and I have ordered both KOS-MOS and Momo, though I think I’ve made it pretty clear that KOS is my favorite of the two! Especially with blue eyes, uhnf. But Momo has her own unique charm as well, and is certainly more cute than her mature companion! Her stock wig is a little too neon for my taste, but I adore this alternate look they have her in. Twintails on a DDS is a winning combination!

Volks sure loves making us droll over Dollfie Dream KOS-MOS, though given how freaking beautiful she is that’s no surprise. I noticed that Momo isn’t getting as much attention, which is similar to their last pre-order project where Saber Extra got so many more galleries than her companion Alter. Seems like Volks always likes to pick one star of the show!
Pre-orders for the Xenosaga Dollfies are closing tomorrow, so if you are on the fence you better make up your mind fast! If these shots don’t convince you, though, I don’t know what will. I absolutely adore her blue eyes, and I think they suit her much better than the red ones.

There are still about 3 weeks left until the Xenosaga Dollfie Dream pre-orders close, which means Volks is cranking out new photos of KOS-MOS and Momo at a rather astounding rate. Of course it’s always nice to see a new doll in different outfits and wigs, since very few owners only keep their dolls in stock.
Both are looking great here, though for me KOS is clearly the star of the show. She’s so effortlessly elegant and seems to look great in any wig! I do wish they’d show off her blue eyes a bit more though since they are the ones a lot of people prefer. Momo will be a bit harder to find a proper look for in my opinion, since I am not liking the shorter wigs on her. I guess we’ll find out for sure when they arrive next autumn!

Dolpa 28 has come and gone, and that means two things! One, there are a veritable ton of the new Dollfie Dreams on the aftermarket. And two, we get to take an up-close look at the newest Volks ladies! Since the US lottery starts up soon, it’s important to take a good long look at what you could be forking over $800+ from. So we have shots of Aoko and Melty, along with unsurprisingly KOS-MOS and Momo. The more I look at Aoko the more I love her, but Melty is still the winner of my heart for this event!

We’ve already seen Dollfie Dreams KOS-MOS and Momo get a full reveal, along with pricing info, but now we are finally getting complete shots! Mostly of KOS-MOS’s R-Blade, which is so ridiculously awesome. Kind of makes up for her not coming with the guns, right? Pre-orders opened recently and you can get them both at Volks International. Best news? There’s not even a down payment, this is a regular old pre-order and you won’t pay until release in fall.
Volks USA just has Momo up, and their policy is a bit different. You can pay in full or do a down payment of $111–her total price is $811, so that is only a small part that you have to pay up front. Of course with Volks USA you’ll also have a longer wait time, which might be a good thing if you need a while to save up! Personally, Stephen and I went for both of them via the International site (along with 2 guns for KOS!). It is gonna be a loooong wait.

Hot on the heels of the reveal of Dollfie Dream KOS-MOS, it’s time for Momo’s unveiling! We have almost all of the release info already, so all that’s left is the dolls themselves. Momo is just as cute as you’d imagine, with a face that reminds me a bit of a prettier DD Sakura. Her features are so small and cute! Her wig is a little on the bright side, much like KOS-MOS, but the outfit is so spot on. Ah, now I really want both of them!
[UPDATE] Orders start tomorrow and run until January 20th! It seems like down payment plans are basically confirmed, and both KOS-MOS and Momo will be limited to 1 per a customer.

FINALLY! Volks has been teasing their Xenosaga project for what seems like forever, most recently with a blurry shot of Momo. So it’s surprising that the first to get a full reveal is KOS-MOS. Well, here she is, and her face is stunning. Personally, I really like the blend of DD and SD style they’ve been going for recently, evident on Rise and now KOS-MOS. That human-looking nose is so cute, and her face is really mature.
The hair, however, is totally the wrong color. This is version 4 KOS, but that’s the hair color she had in version 2. Why! I was so looking forward to a pale blue wig, but oh well. I bet you could find a good match on another store. Other than the hair I have zero complaints, she meets my expectations and looks very much like her in-game art. Plus she comes with blue AND red eyes. Fancy!
