Winter Wonder Festival 2014: BEAT

Up until now, BEAT has been a company based on sex appeal (and the hopes that we will focus on boobs instead of faces). Of course they had a few ecchi figures at WonFest, like their new Soniko and an absolutely terrifying bunny girl, but they actually went for some real licenses as well! Of course their quality is… questionable, but this seems like a step in the right direction.

Like everyone else, they had some KanColle figures (Naka and Sendai), along with a rather odd Saber Extra and Yumi & Yomi from Senran Kagura. I am seriously baffled by the Saber–what is she wearing?!

They had quite a few of their scaled Figuarts ZERO line on display, starting with four cuties from Senran Kagura. Well, none of these are really new: in fact we saw them at Tamashii Nations 2011! Asuka, who went up for order quite some time ago, is getting two recolors: one pink, one blue. And Yomi, who vanished after the event, is still on track to be produced!

Then we’ve got two AKB0048 figures: Nagisa Motomiya, who is already up for order, and the newly announced Chieri Sono! Chieri is just gorgeous, and while Nagisa wasn’t my stripe I really love her serene expression and blue hair. Knowing my luck (and Bandai’s lack of continuity) she’ll be an exclusive.

[via HMV_Anime]

Plus we don’t even have 2/3rds of the August order in! The main reason for the delay on this was trying to get all of the SDCC loot together, which came to us in odd ways. Some, mostly resin pieces, we took on the plane back with us, but several were shipped and took a while to arrive.

But the SDCC loot is going to have to be saved for another post, as one of the pieces has mysteriously gone missing! Stephen and I are currently in the process of moving and packing up the collection, so things are a bit hectic. Heck, we’ve received 2 different shipments of August goods that haven’t even been unboxed! Poor little figures, trapped in plastic. But for now, let’s look at the loot that has made it onto shelves (for the most part), because July was a great month for figures!
