@GeekeryDo: @mikeyturvey I agree with you. I stopped reading them because I got tired of it, though @Sir_Narwhal is correct that it's normal for comics.

@GeekeryDo: @Sir_Narwhal @mikeyturvey yeh but that's just one arc and it's easy to read it all since, as you said, it's been put together like that.

@NFern0: @Sir_Narwhal Sounds like (ohoho) specialist equipment. Black Friday is more mass consumer oriented isn't it?

Yukiho Hagiwara Archive

Dolpa Nagoya 5 is taking place soon, and for once we aren’t getting our info on the new girls from scans! That’s right, no blurry pictures–but as always, beware, Dollfie Dream promotional shots are misleading as hell. They look so much better in person! First up is a re-release of the lovely Sakuya/Maxima from Shining Blade, this time in her Crimson Mode outfit (which Kotobukiya gave us a figure of!). I kind of regretted passing up on her the first time, so I don’t know if I can pass over a twintailed version.
Then we have two more IDOLM@STER girls! First it was Miki and Haruka, and now Yukiho and Chihaya who were actually announced back in March. Both are way prettier than I expected, but like Miki and Haruka I expect they’ll be Japan-only. Which is shame, I’m kind of in love with Yukiho’s face!

Kotobukiya usually has one of the biggest booths at any event, so you can expect a lot of figures! And indeed, we have a veritable ton. Let’s start with the teasers: they’re all here (of course)! Kobato, Ayase, Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi, Maou, and Meiya Mitsurugi, Panis, and Yukiho (along with a painted Hibiki). But of course it wasn’t all given away before.
As far as new figures go, we’ve got… Gumi! Yes, the Vocaloid. Surprising, I know, but she looks great! There’s also their Horizon figure of Honda that we found out about so long ago, brought back to live, as well as art for Tomo. There’s also the last of the Muv-Luv Total Eclipse girls, Inia, looking as divine as you’d expect. Oh, and Cu-Poche Mami! Phew, that’s a lot. But stay tuned… we have one more piece of Koto news for you coming up!

As we tick down the days until Winter Wonder Festival, it’s time for a flood of teasers! We haven’t gotten the big batch from GSC yet, but I like smaller teasers personally–I love the surprise of WonFest, don’t want to give too much away! Kotobukiya is doing it right with only 3 little teasers, 2 of which are new sculpts. The “old” figure is the new Ayase we saw in scans, who will be painted at WonFest.
Next we have a Idolm@ster figure, an Angelic Island version of Yukiho Hagiwara! Does this mean we’ll see Hibiki at the event too?! The third teaser is the Cu-Poche Miki, which is now painted and sculpted!

Well after the abomination that was last week, companies had a lot to make up for this time around–and they delivered! We have a particularly packed roundup for you this week, with tons of beautiful ladies and four (yes FOUR) Nendoroids! We’ve got magical girls, animal girls, girls with guns, girls in swimsuits, and one lone boy. So hit the jump and let’s get started!

We’ve got 2 new Beach Queens from Wave for you today! Well, not “new”: both were announced previously. The first is Konatsu Miyamoto from Tari Tari, a show that seems to be gaining popularity in the figure world. She definitely doesn’t show us the best of Wave’s abilities: while the face is cute and the 2 hairstyles is a nice touch, her pose is just so weird. What in the world is she doing?! If, however, you’re a fan she’ll retail for ¥3,800 with an August release date.
Then the IDOLM@STER line trudges on with Yukiho Hagiwara, who might just me by favorite of the line so far. The pose is lovely, and I like the hat & shovel additions. Like every other Beach Queen in the history of the universe she’ll retail for ¥3,800 and will be coming out way off in August.

Welcome to two months of loot in one! Actually it’s kind of three: as you may or may not have noticed, we didn’t have a August loot post either. It’s a long story, but basically AmiAmi has been smushing our orders together oddly so we get things late (but some early–most of our October was here before the September items). So some August items squeaked their way in! Hit the jump to get started on our most action-packed loot post yet.

Wave sure loves their Beach Queen line, and no franchise has gotten more entries in it than Idolm@ster. We’ve seen almost all the characters in BQ form, but of course you can never have enough tiny idols. They’ve just announced a ton of new additions: Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki who are both sculpted, and then a few who are just art: Ritsuko Akizuki, Makoto Kikuchi, and Yukiho Hagiwara. Beach Queens are kind of hit-or-miss once they are painted, but hopefully these 5 end up as cute as the characters!

The first set of Idolm@ster 2 Petit Nendoroids, dubbed “Stage 1″ was painfully adorable, and it was announced that Good Smile Company would be following it up with a Stage 2. Well lo and behold, here it is! Like the previous set, we get 6 girls: Yukiho Hagiwara, Miki Hoshii, Iori Minase, Hibiki Ganaha, Azusa Miura, and Ami Futami. Unless I am very much mistaken, this is the more popular group of girls: in fact, of the 5 MegaHouse has picked for figures, 4 of them are in this set! My favorites are here too: Miki and Azusa. They do look great, and like the previous set I feel like it will be a lot of fun to have some head-swaps! Fate/Hollow ataraxia glam band, anyone?

MegaHouse has been working slowly but surely on their Idolm@ster 2 line, and Yukiho is up next! We first heard about her at Wonder Festival, and then she appeared painted in scans. While I can’t claim to know much about Idolm@ster, I really love the outfit they’ve chosen for Yukiho–it’s so bright and springy! The floral theme of her skirt really comes through but isn’t in-your-face: of the girls so far in the line, I think she’s my favorite! She’ll retail for ¥6,800 and will come out in August, with orders opening sometime this week.
