Is it just me, or do prize fairs happen pretty much nonstop? The 29th was only a short while ago, and the 30th is already here! I have to admit, this is probably the most exciting prize fair in a while. It’s jam-packed with awesome, the star of the show being a set of Persona 4 Arena prize figures from Taito based on their game art. It includes pretty much everyone but Rise (sigh), including, yes, Kanji and Naoto! Plus, the poses are AMAZING! Seriously, look at that Yukiko.
We also have a surprising and sfw figure of Tamaki. While she’s popular in the scaled world I think this is actually her first prize figure! Then we’ve got all the regulars: Code Geass, OreImo, Nanoha, K-On!, Evangelion, One Piece, Another, Bakemonogatari, and more. We also have some newcomers like Photokanon, Senran Kagura, Medaka Box, and more, so check them all out in the gallery!

Because, well, she’s super boring. She got <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/wave-shows-off-3-new-beach-queens" target="_blank">an invisible Beach Queen</a> already, and now it seems like <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/nendoroid-akari-akaza-is-one-dramatic-figure" target="_blank">her Nendoroid rendition</a> is getting the ghostly treatment!</p> <p>This is actually kind of a neat idea, as long as she comes with more than the parts we see here! We only have one shot of her but I assume (read:pray) that there is more. She’s an exclusive but thankfully not of the frighteningly expensive kind: you can snag the bundle of her and the Yuru Yuri CD <a href="http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=MED-CD2-12295&page=top" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackEvent','outbound-article','http://www.amiami.com']);" target="_blank">at AmiAmi</a> for ¥6,825. Well, maybe excluding July of 2010, where we had an entire wall of loot from SDCC. But in terms of imports, yeah, it’s a bit overwhelming! That’s right, the year really is drawing to a close. Which means thinking of a list of our favorite figures, working on golden butt and boobie awards, and oh yeah.. scans! We already saw the <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/queens-blades-irma-is-finally-getting-a-figure" target="_blank">announcement of Irma</a> but of course that’s not all (though honestly there’s not as much new as usual this time around). We’ve got lots and lots of swimsuit girls, and a few gems thrown in. I mean we have a ton of Akaris and a ton of swimsuit figures, she just didn’t seem very special. Well she’s not exactly the best swimsuit figure ever, but boy is she cute painted! Her hair and face in particular have fantastic shading and coloring, plus the pose and inner tube are too cute to resist.</p> <p>She’ll retail for a reasonable ¥6800, especially given that she is 1/7 scale. AlphaMax, you keep getting me with your adorable swimsuit girls! Akari comes out in June, so you have a long time to save up. Everyone else is more interesting than her, but apparently the title of ‘heroine’ no matter how tongue-in-cheek is what makers care about more. We just saw <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/miyazawa-model-exhibition-fall-2012-alters-akari-akaza" target="_blank">Alter’s school uniform version of her</a>, and now it’s AlphaMax’s turn!</p> <p>At this point, I have so many swimsuit figures that it takes a lot to really catch my attention. Akari here, well.. she’s very simple. A nice sculpt, but a little too simple, especially at a larger 1/7 scale. I wasn’t that impressed with the <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/summer-wonder-festival-2012-the-ladies-of-alter" target="_blank">original sculpt</a>, especially when compared to <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/let-alters-mirakurun-cast-a-spell-on-you" target="_blank">Mirakurun</a>, but she does look rather cute painted. This was definitely the case with <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/the-29th-prize-fair-features-shin-megami-tensei-evangelion-more" target="_blank">the 29th Prize Fair</a>, as we now have about a metric ton of new prize figures to show you that either weren’t at the event or didn’t get coverage until later. There’s also some new in here: like the Mothman/Black Frost/Mokoi trio, which is <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/pre-order-figures-from-the-29th-prize-fair" target="_blank">up for order</a> but is also now painted!</p> <p>Of course there are many many new figures: my particular favorites are the Hello Kitty x Vocaloid mashup and the amazing Red King & Black King set from <em>Accel World</em>. We’ve also got figures from<em> Sword Art Online</em>, Hidamari Sketch, Shana, <em>Love Live!
