  • <p><a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/nycc-2017-good-smile-companys-booth-overview/attachment/nycc2017gscheader" rel="attachment wp-att-82978"></a></p> <p>I remember the dark times when Good Smile Company didn’t come to US events. Thankfully those days are over, because their booth is usually the toy highlight of any convention! And they really brought it for NYCC this year with not one but two separate booth displays.</p> <p>They had a lot of brand-new goodies, like <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/gsc-unveils-anniversary-miku-scaled-figure" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the Anniversary Miku</a> (look at that hair!!), figma Genji, and the sculpt for the <em>Breath of the Wild</em> Guardian Nendoroid. It’s always nice to be able to see figures in person, it’s quite a different experience–for example, I wasn’t really sold on Marie Rose’s colors at all when the promotional shots came out, but I was totally won over when I finally got to see her. She might be coming to my pre-order list!</p>

It’s probably because there are so dang many, and we always get one or two no one can identify until the actual event happens. It’s like a game! And this year is no exception, we have quite a few teasers on our hands.</p> <p>First, the new Nendoroids: they teased a Guardian from <em>Breath of the Wild</em>, a new Kongou from KanColle, Hifumi Takimoto from <em>New Game!</em>, and Kukuri from <em>Mahoujin Guru Guru</em>. Ai-chan from <em>Getsuyoubi no Tawawa</em> is painted, and Juzumaru Tsunetsugu from <em>Touken Ranbu</em> is sculpted.</p> <p>As for the scaled figures, Arisa from <em>Shadowverse</em> is painted as is Izuminokami Kanesada from <em>Touken Ranbu</em>.     Good Smile Company’s Summer WonFest 2017 Teasers

    For some reason, I always associate Good Smile Company with the most hype teasers. It’s probably because there are so dang many, and we always get one or two no one can identify until the actual event happens. It’s like a game! And this year is no exception, we have quite a few teasers on our hands.

    First, the new Nendoroids: they teased a Guardian from Breath of the Wild, a new Kongou from KanColle, Hifumi Takimoto from New Game!, and Kukuri from Mahoujin Guru Guru. Ai-chan from Getsuyoubi no Tawawa is painted, and Juzumaru Tsunetsugu from Touken Ranbu is sculpted.

We’ve been getting so many great licenses, including of course a bounty of Nintendo figures. Especially from Good Smile! They’ve given us so very many Link figures so far… you’d think I would be tired by now, but the latest–<a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/go-on-an-adventure-with-the-breath-of-the-wild-link-nendoroid" target="_blank">Breath of the Wild Link</a>–is my favorite so far.</p> <p>I mean, there’s just so much to love. There’s tons of detailing in his outfit and weaponry. He comes with a tiny lil pony (if you get the DX version, of course). And he’s just so tiny and angry! Recently Nintendo has been a little looser with their licenses, which we’ve seen with the 5 billion Link figures (and one Nendoroid Zelda) that they’ve come out with recently. But poor Zelda was basically on the sideline…. until now!</p> <p>At NYCC they had both the <em>Twilight Princess</em> figmas <a href="http://www.plastikitty.com/home/nycc-2016-max-factorys-link-zelda-figmas" target="_blank">out and about</a>. They are definitely some of the most detailed figmas I’ve ever seen, especially Zelda. So many elements to her outfit! And the colors look so beautiful and game-accurate.</p>
